To effectively chlorinate a 60,000-gallon pool, industry standards recommend a system capacity of 90,000-120,000 gallons. The lower end of this range is suitable for cooler climates, while the higher end is for warmer southern regions. Therefore, it's advised to install two chlorinators in parallel. Suitable models include the CircuPool SJ55A, the Universal 55, the RJ60-PLUS, and the Core 55. The Universal 55 and RJ60-PLUS are preferable due to their superior chlorine potential, which suggests a longer cell life. The RJ60-PLUS notably has a cell lifespan of 15,000 hours, compared to 10,000 hours for the others giving it quite clearly the longest expected service life.
