Yes, the CircuPool Universal Series Salt Chlorinator - as well as all other CircuPool Salt Chlorinators - is absolutely compatible with above ground pools. However, to ensure proper connection of the salt cell and flow switch, it's crucial that a section of the post-pump, filter, and heater plumbing is made from Schedule 40 PVC pipe.
