Don't panic if your CircuPool Universal Series Salt Chlorinator displays a Check Cell light. For the moment, forget whether this is an issue with the salt cell or the control module. Instead, follow these circupool troubleshooting steps:
If the light is flashing:
Press and hold the System Status button for about 10 seconds before releasing. This should reset and turn off the reminder light.
If the light is solid, there is a little more to do:
Firstly, ensure that the control module is set to the correct cell type. Specifically, a UL25 / Si30 should be set to F-9, a UL40 / Si45 to F-15, and a UL55 /Si60 to t-15 or C-60.
Next, confirm that the salinity level is 3,000 ppm or above.
Inspect the cell for any debris between the blades and remove it.
Then, acid wash the cell using a 4:1 muriatic acid and water solution. Clean multiple times until the cell no longer fizzes or reacts to the solution. If you use a cleaning stand, add fresh acid/water solution for successive cleanings.
If the Check Cell light remains on after following these steps, contact CircuPool's Technical Support at (866) 766-5243 on weekdays between 9-4:30 Central.
