You typically expect to see a reaction at the cell blades when acid washing a salt cell. However, if it seems to stop reacting, continue to soak the cell for the time prescribed by the owner's manual.
If you are cleaning the cell a second time, we recommend a fresh acid solution if you've used a cleaning stand or cap due to the possibility that the small volume of the original batch was depleted by the cleaning process. If you're cleaning in a large bucket, you can reuse the solution.
When cleaning multiple times, if no reaction at all is seen in the first minute or so, you can take that as an indication that the cell is clean and halt the process.
