Yes, you can install just the pre-filter and keep your existing filter.
can I install just the pre-filter and keep my existing Jacuzzi JCF425 filter? CircuPool® TWO-STAGE FILTER PACKAGE (Cartridge Filter and TJ-16 Pre-Filter) Filters
I had the Jacuzzi JCF425 along with their JSCS40 SWG installed 2 years ago in 2022 and happy with that. I only wanted to add the pre-filter part since it seems to make it easier to maintain.
