Will it still generate chlorine with a high salt reading?
Universal Series
I had what I found out to be a faulty Universal40 cell so I had to buy a replacement. Unfortunately the way I found out was the system was saying the salt levels were low so after adding more salt and not seeing any increase, I took a sample to a local pool store. Now that I have the new cell in it is saying it's too high. Will it still generate with that warning light on or do I have to drain down my pool a bit?

If your CircuPool Universal Series Salt Chlorinator has a solid High Salt light, then it will not generate chlorine. After checking that the System Status menu displays the correct cell type and confirming with separate tests that the salinity is high, you will need to draw down the pool level and add fresh water. If those tests indicate that the salinity is not high, then please call us weekdays at (888) 206-9938 between 9-4:30 Central.
