How will this work with a hot tub? CircuPool SmartFlo Series Variable Speed Pool Pumps - Owner Resources Pumps

Looking at replacing Pentair whisper flow pump and Pentair ic 20 salt cell with your combo filter and Edge Salt Cell. Currently I have pump and heat pump and salt cell controlled by Intermatic PE2300 timer. My spa is controlled by a hardwired rheostat switch that somehow activates two valves, turns on the heat pump and pentair pump . How would I set up the new VS pump that has timers built in with my current environment.

A CircuPool SmartFlo Variable Speed Pump will bypass your Intermatic timer and you will program the pump itself to turn on and off and to change between speeds as you wish.
With respect to using your hot tub, you can continue to use the Intermatic timer and the rheostat control you spoke of, to activate the valves and heat pump. However, you will switch your SmartFlo from its Programmed Mode to Manual Mode and set the pump at your chosen speed when you wish to run the hot tub.
