All testing is done through our warranty center, but there is a key test you can perform for yourself. The assumption here is that you have no red lights lit on the Control Module. Temporarily turn your RJ+ up to Power Max and, after allowing a short time for the unit to adjust, access the system Menu and check for the voltage and amps reaching the cell. These will be the second and third items displayed.
Cell Voltage is usually 21.0 to 27.0 volts when generating, otherwise 16-31V. The voltage slowly builds when generation begins. If Voltage stays between 10-13V, this typically indicates the unit is configured to accept 240V but is only receiving 120V. Meanwhile, Cell Current is usually 2.50 to 7.80 amps when generating, otherwise 0 amps during normal rest cycles. The Cell Current may be positive or negative.
If the Cell Voltage and Current are correct, then the system is generating chlorine. If the Cell Current is 0, then you should call us at (888) 206-9938 Mon-Thu: 9-4:30 or Fri: 9-3pm Central and a member of our support team will assist you. If you are seeing proper Cell Voltage and Current, but are having low chlorine issues, you should also call us, but please have the current results of a pool store water test available.
