Actually, a "hot" message is an indication that the temperature sensor in the salt cell has failed. To fix this, you begin by rerouting the temperature reading from the cell to the flow switch by moving a "jumper" inside the control module. Detailed instructions on how to do this are attached.
Start at Step 2 on the second page of the instructions. This should get your salt chlorinator working again, with it reverting to a default temperature, and enabling it to resume chlorine production. [Important Point: Do not move the jumper back to the original position later.]
However, don't forget to contact our technical support team at (888) 206-9938. They will confirm your warranty coverage and assist you with acquiring a temperature/flow switch.
Once you install the new switch according to the first page of the instructions, your repair will be complete.
