There are two things to begin with. Clean the salt cell thoroughly and verify that the cell version setting is correct. Re-check the current salinity reading from the chlorinator. If you still see a large disparity, then re-test the salinity using a different method to confirm the salinity, testing a third time if the salinity remains ambiguous.
Should you be left with more than a few hundred ppm difference, simply remain aware of the differential unless the unit is throwing a red light for low salt. If the reading causes a stoppage due to a low salt light, then consult Hayward documentation for instructions on adjusting the control module.

I own this cell, which I purchased a few months ago from Discount Saltwater Pool and have cleaned. Is there no way to recalibrate the cell to more accurately display the salinity compared to the sodium chloride test results? You mentioned the Hayward documentation; since the cell is a CircuPool and not a Hayward, does that still apply?
