As long as you are not getting any other warning lights beside Cell Life Low, you can continue to use your chlorine generator normally. The system tracks your usage (like an odometer on your car) and is alerting you that based on how much you have previously run it you are entering the later stages of the typical cell lifespan. The system does this so that you can be prepared. However, the warning can occur well before the cell is ready to fail.
If however you get a clean cell, low salt, or system error light in tandem with this light, that indicates the system is no longer able to generate. If all other basic troubleshooting is done, then at that point it would be time to replace the cell. So, yes, when a cell fails, you are able to replace it at the discounted rate available at that point in your warranty. That bridge can be crossed someday in the future.
