The specific correct settings have changed over the years but with the choices you have, the correct setting should be H-15.
So, after choosing that setting and allowing it to operate for awhile, the Instant Salinity reading (#5 when you toggle through the System Status menu) should be correct.
Note that the displayed salinity - without checking System Status - is a 24 hour trailing average which will take time to come into line with the instantaneous reading.
In addition, your pool store reading or the reading from your handheld tester are subject to an uncertainty range of a perhaps several hundred ppm as is the Salt chlorinator, so don't expect numbers to be spot on with an uncertainty level on the two numbers you are comparing.
If you have a problematic difference in the readings, please call us at (888) 206-9938 Mon-Thu: 9-4:30 or Fri: 9-3PM Central and a member of our support team will assist you.
