My pool is 20,000 gal. I have read some comments that you should size your chlorinator twice the size of the pool.

The usual guideline as we apply it is 1 1/2 in northern or moderate locales and 2 times in southern (warm and sunny) areas. So the CORE 35 sits comfortably in between.
Consider, though, that the 55 gives you an estimated 42% more chlorine production over its rated lifetime for 24% more money.
