You're headed in the right direction, but if that does not take care of it then consider using a timer to reduce the operating time.

I have a rj 45 for a 24 ft round pool 52 deep cant keep chlorine from going up started out at generator 75 % chlorine was way high turnoff for 2 weeks and purchased chlorine reducer chlorine came down turned generator on at 30 % same issue turn off again waiting for Chlorine to go down going to try 10 %
