Two excellent options if you are switching out of an AquaRite are the CircuPool Universal and the CircuPool RJ+ series of salt chlorinators. They both save you from re-plumbing and offer digital displays with excellent diagnostics and high chlorine output ratings. They hit two different price points with the RJ+ on the pricier end but with a 7-year vs 4-Year limited warranty on the Universal. The RJ+ also utilizes a longer lifespan cell. They both come in a variety of capacity ratings, but remember, you should choose the size based on hitting or exceeding 1.5-2 times the pool volume.
You noted "t-9" which is the 25,000 max gallon capacity model, but then mentioned a 40,000 gallon max capacity which would be the "t-15" model. Be sure to double check your pool size and your current model, so that you can ensure you upgrade to get a system that has more than enough capacity.
