You would want the CircuPool CORE CONTROL to be continuously connected to power. According to the manual: For most installations, simply plug the unit into a 110-120VAC outlet with covered outdoor protection, which is also protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) safety outlet or ground fault circuit breaker (GFCB). Alternatively, the unit can be hardwired into a nearby power source (110-240VAC). The unit is dual voltage (110-240VAC) and auto-detecting.
Unlike traditional salt chlorinators which are designed to turn on/off with the pump, keeping the CORE CONTROL powered allows you to maintain its Wi-Fi connection and get status notifications via its app.
