The CircuPool TJ16 Typhoon cyclonic prefilter is rated with the following effectiveness:
Removing 96% of all heavier than dirt particulate down to 30 Microns
Removing 75% down to 20 Microns.
Can capture debris as small as 5 microns
That being said, even most primary pool filters (except for DE filters) struggle capturing 5 micron and smaller particles. For example, dead algae is very small and is notorious for passing through pool filters. If fine sediment is currently an issue, typically adding a clarifier to the water is a simple solution. This causes the finest particles to bind together into larger particles that can then be filtered out.
