Is it really better to oversize? Looking at the Universal40 for a 20K size pool. Will the 25K be just as efficient? Does the electronic box have a timer or do I need to tie it into my pool timer? A smaller model will definitely not be more efficient. It will have to run at higher output levels / longer run times in order to provide the amount of chlorination your pool needs in comparison to a larger model. The standard way to wire salt chlorinator is to put it on the same circuit as your pump so they turn on and off together. There are more instructions about this in the manual, which can be found on the product page.
