I have purchased a Core 35 to convert my Fiberglass inground pool to salt water for 2023.
CORE Series
I have done my homework and have above average skill sets so installation should be very easy. I will power the Core 35 via the 110 V power cord to a GFI beaker used for my lights. I assume the following so please confirm this point.
My pump is a Hayward 1.6 HP variable speed pump. This pump has self contained menus that need no outside interface to operate. My plan was to turn the Core 35 on and let the flow switch start and stop chlorine production after it is all set up. My pump is set up to turn the water over 2 time a day and then shut down overnight. Will the Core 35 stop production after the flow stops and just wait until the flow starts again in the morning OR will it power off and I will have to restart the unit the next morning. I could not find this information anywhere in the manual and it would help me. Can you also tell me if there are any problems leaving the Core 35 on like this?

It is common to use the salt chlorine generator with a variable speed pump. You might want to take a look at page 15 of the manual (link below) for the most complete wiring information. It does not hurt the system to be idle while having the "no flow" LED illuminated. Ideally, having a salt chlorine generator on a timer that supplies power during the same run times with the pump provides an extra level of coordination and safety, and can be achieved with as simple as an outdoor plug-in timer when coordinating with a programmable pump.
