Yes you can absolutely do that and the flow switch will tell the unit not to run when the pump is off.
Separate circuit for Core55? CORE Series
my Core55 is wired into a 220V 20 amp circuit along with my pool pump. The breaker trips sometimes, possibly at startup via a timer. Can I put the Core55 on a separate 120V circuit and just leave it plugged in all the time?
