Typically if there is high or low water temperature readings, the system will display a message to that effect and the generate light will flash. The system will not generate chlorine when the temperature is out of range. When the system is not generating (for any reason), no power is passing through the cell and the instant salinity level will show zero.
If the water temperature is not at this level, I would recommend giving our customer support line a call the next time you have a minute. This may indicate that something is damaged and a replacement part may be needed. Just call (888) 206-9938x2 the next time you have a minute and we'll get some information from you to help you move forward. The techs may ask you a couple questions about what you see on your unit, so if possible it would be good if you can be nearby it; if not you can just check what they are asking after the call.
We're very glad to help make sure everything gets back up and running.
