This error on a CircuPool RJ-PLUS Series Salt Chlorinator will be displayed when there is not a proper connection between the salt cell and the control box.
Performing these procedures once or twice will solve most connection issues. If for some reason an issue persists, please call tech support at (866) 766-5243 to move forward if needed.
You will want to:
1) remove power from the controls,
2) fully disconnect the cell cord from the controls and inspect its male and female pins to ensure everything is intact,
3) reconnect the cell cord to the controls, making sure that the plug is correctly aligned, fully inserted, and fully seated down into the terminal, and that the plug's lock-ring is tightened down (hand-tight only). Note that this can be easier to manage if you are able to lift the controller from the wall and set it on a flat surface.
4) restore power to the controls.
If after a couple attempts of disconnecting and reconnecting your cell (while power is turned off) does not clear the message, make sure that there is no tension in the cell cord that may be pulling on the cell cord connection, and if necessary take the following additional steps to ensure there is not a damaged connection:
1) remove power from the controls,
2) disconnect the cell cord from the controls
3) on the controller’s cord terminal with the silver male pins, take a needle-nose pliers and gently pull on each pin to ensure it is fully extended. It is possible that during attempts to connect the cell cord one or all of these pins may have been pushed back into the body of the plug; a recessed pin will not create a full connection and cause the error message.
4) inspect the female terminals on the cell cord’s plug, ensure no dirt / debris / corrosion / etc… has filled any terminal hole, which may prevent a proper connection with the male pin that gets inserted. If any debris is present, clean out the terminal.
5) reconnect the cell cord to the controls, making sure that the plug is correctly aligned, fully inserted, and fully seated down into the terminal, and that the plug's lock-ring is tightened down (hand-tight only).
6) restore power to the controls.
