No, it is not normal for the Cell Maintenance light to come on. This light indicates that there is an issue preventing the system from sending power through the cell, and if this light comes on it will stay on until the unit is powered off and the issue resolved. After use the most common cause will be mineral scaling in the cell and/or very low salinity. For a new installation, common causes could be very low salinity and/or turning the system on without water in the cell.
