At normal water temperatures, CircuPool Universal and RJ PLUS Series Salt Chlorinators can display a high temperature warning.if the temperature sensor in the salt cell has been compromised. The repair involves adjusting the control module as described in the attached instructions to reroute the temperature reading to the flow switch which allows the chlorinator to resume generating chlorine. It is then necessary to replace the original flow switch with a temperature flow switch which can send readings to the control module in order to view the actual water temperature.
So, re. the original question, ordinarily the flow switch in a CircuPool Universal or RJ PLUS does not read temperature but replacement switches designed for that purpose are available.
