It is OK to have cell installed during opening clean, balance and shock treatment?
CircuPool CORE55 Salt Chlorine Generator
CORE Series
Opening has begun, salt level is low, filtering water and using chlorine pucks, algicide, and will do a CL shock as well. Salt will be added next week. Can it harm the cell to install it (unpowered) while all this is happening? I saw mention of a "winter cap" I could install instead. What do you recommend?

As long is the cell is powered off when adding shock and other chemicals to open the pool that is fine. You just don't want it turned on and operating when doing that.
