Salt cell deteriorating threads CircuPool RJ-PLUS Series Salt Chlorine Generators - Owner Resources RJ PLUS Series

I noticed plastic pieces of my salt cell (JR-60) have come off deteriorating I have some pictures.

It like the plastic has softened?

I had to use plumbers white thread putty to put the cell back on this week it’s now leaking.
