1. For maximum cell life, you should operate your system at the lowest percentage output that maintains Free Chlorine at your chosen level while running your pump 24 hours a day.
2. The minimum RPM to run your pump is the level which assures that the flow switch is engaged by the water flow and allows the Salt Chlorinator to generate chlorine - that will vary by pool and by filter pressure. For the sake of proper circulation and filtration you will want some periods of higher water flow.
3. Chlorine production at a given percentage output setting will approximately average the systems rated output times the percentage and divided by 24. These numbers have no practical purpose or meaning.
4. 24 hours
5. If you maintain all aspects of your water chemistry on target, the RJ 60+ should not need extra chlorine added to the pool.
6. CYA should be between 30 and 50 and in the Arizona sun, 50 is best.
pH should be kept tightly within the range of 7.4 and 7.6
Phosphates should be kept near 0
Calcium Hardness is tough because of your hard water and high evaporation rate, but try to keep it between about 300-400
Total Alkalinity should be kept at the bottom end of the normal range around 80 or even a little below
The Saturation Index (aka LSI or CSI) must be kept between -0.2 and +0.2 and ideally between 0 and -0.2
Water temperature should be held down to the extent you can but without a chiller, shade is one of the few things that will help.
7. Certainly, in the period before a clean cell advisory light comes on you can see significant deposits on your cell. Light, or no light, if your cell appears to have significant deposits, then you should clean it.
