Actually you're doing fine. As a "self-cleaning" salt chlorinator, the RJ+ will periodically switch polarities with the current reading negative on the one polarity and positive on the other.
[Be aware, the self-cleaning function will substantially reduce the build up of deposits but does not eliminate the periodic need to acid wash the cell]
