The RJ+ series of salt chlorinators cannot be re-calibrated in their measurement of salinity.
So, enter the menu and toggle through to where - if, say, you have an RJ45 - it should say "RJ45+"
If it reads "RJ45" or indicates a different size, use the + or - key to toggle through the settings until it reads correctly.
If it's reading correctly, then it could include any number of problems associated with degraded reagents- heat, time light - or bad test strips, etc. Any number of these can be at play and compound on top of the routine uncertainty levels of testing which can amplify an apparent discrepancy by several hundred (+/-) ppm.
Check with a pool store for yet one more measure to help clarify the actual salinity. If you're still too far apart then please call us at (888) 206-9938 Mon-Thu: 9-4:30 or Fri: 9-3PM Central and a member of our support team will assist you.
