The frequency of scaling on a salt cell is dependent on the pool’s water chemistry, specifically the Saturation Index (LSI) level. If your water is balanced or has a low LSI, you may encounter little to no mineral scaling. Please note that you don’t want a low or high LSI, as this can cause the water to be corrosive or excessively scale forming. In your case, be sure to check our LSI level regularly and make sure it is balanced with the rest of your water chemistry. It is typical for a salt cell to need to be cleaned seasonally. In the meantime, it’s good to inspect your cell periodically to check for both mineral scaling or debris.
