This part often allows you to continue to use your cell if damage occurs to the cell, its internals or its connection, which would otherwise prevent the cell from being able to operate. When applicable, this can prevent expensive replacement of the cell when the it would otherwise no longer be operable despite still likely having lifespan left on its titanium electrode. Customer support will help determine if this part is needed after troubleshooting with you.
