The CircuPool RJ PLUS models you asked about would require replumbing if replacing an existing Pentair IC40 salt system. However, replacement without replumbing can be achieved if you consider the CircuPool CORE models. CORE models have an available adapter kit for pentair intellichlor fittings which would make replacement very convenient.
