Tom, it sounds like you might be referring to a "flow switch", which is an additional sensor that newer systems have. Depending on which older system you might have, we offer adapter kits that could make it possible to add a new system without replumbing - give us a call so we can clarify which model you do have (RJ, SJ...) and we are happy to assist. 888-206-9938
