The power wire is roughly 5', and you can pretty easily wire in a new one if desired. It uses about 2A at 240V. It can work either way that you mention.
"Roughly" how long is the power wire? If it's short, is it easy to wire in a new one? "Roughly" how many amps would one think the 35k unit draws?
