When converting from a chlorine pool to this system, do I run the already chlorinated water through the system and add additional salt as needed? Thanks a lot for the assistance.

Brad, yes essentially you just install the salt chlorinator and add the salt directly into the pool at that time. Once it dissolves, the system continually recycles the salt to generate chlorine and take over your pool's sanitation.
