If the Salt LED or Cell LED on your CircuPool SJ-A Series Salt Chlorinator is red, there are a few potential issues to examine.
Firstly, ensure the salinity is within the recommended range of 3,000-4,000 ppm. If it's out of range, adjust it manually. Since salinity tests may have a range of uncertainty to them, make sure that you are comfortably within the range.
Secondly, the Electrolytic Cell may need cleaning due to mineral scaling or the cell may be clogged or harboring debris. Use the CircuPool SJ-Series cleaning tool for this purpose and acid wash the salt cell. See pages 12-13 of the owner's manual.
A loose Cell connection could also be the issue. Remove, check, and firmly re-seat the cord plug.
Lastly, the Cell's efficiency might have been reduced due to inadequate water flow, a pocket in the Cell, or if the Cell is damaged or worn out. In this case, the Cell may need to be replaced.
