Pool owners must always remember that when the Free Chlorine level in a pool is 0, the only thing we know with certainty is that any chlorine that has gone into the pool has been consumed in sanitizing the water. In other words, we only know that the pool demands more chlorine than it received, whether no chlorine went into the water or a lot of chlorine went into the water.
If you have a CircuPool SJA Series Salt Chlorinator, then Step One of the attached troubleshooting guide provides instructions on how to determine whether the unit is generating chlorine or not. If it shows that your system is indeed producing chlorine, then with a current pool store water test (including phosphates) move on to Step Two. Review your water chemistry to identify what may be causing or contributing to the excessive demand level.
If the indication is that the system is indeed not generating chlorine or if you need assistance analyzing your water chemistry then you should call us weekdays at (888) 206-9938 between 9-4:30 Central.
