where does the large O-ring go on the Core55 Salt chlorinator? Is there an illustration? CircuPool CORE Series Salt Chlorine Generators - Owner Resources CORE Series

My unit came with the Large O-Ring attached to the salt cell on the CORE55 unit, in what appears to be between the outer ring that sits against the salt cell housing. There are no illustrations to explain where this ring goes. Removing it and trying to place it in the threaded cap of the control unit, in what appears to be a channel, does not fit. Is the O-ring now stretched
