I bought a CORE electronic chlorine generator last summer and it already can only make 50% capacity. What is the normal life expectancy of a cell?

This is not in the least associated with the normal life expectancy of a CORE salt cell. You've not said whether there are any warning lights lit. If there are, address those issues and call us if necessary. Otherwise, clean the salt cell and be certain that salinity is at least 3,000 ppm. If neither of these clear the problem, then call us.
