The measurement from the bottom of the CORE35 salt cell housing to the centerline of the inlet/outlets is approximately 4.5 inches roughly. The housing extends about 3" below the unions & piping. You probably want to have 5-6 inches of clearance for ease of installation and service. You can find additional dimensions in the images and in the specs tab on the CORE35 product page.
