If a SJ cell is leaking, these are the 3 typical causes:

The o-ring is either not present, damaged, or out of place. Do not use any lubricant or sealant.
The cell head or housing is physically damaged, such as a crack from freeze damage. Such damage will be clearly visible.
The cell head's keyed notch is not 100% aligned with the slot in the top of the clear housing, which prevents the cell head from being fully inserted and compressed against the o-ring.
- Take the cell apart, and look very closely at the head of the cell and the inside of the clear housing: they each have a key shape (male on cell head, female on housing). Carefully align these shape and slide the cell in all the way, applying a little bit of pressure. Continue to hold the cell by its cord with one hand (so it can’t possibly move rotate), then use your other hand to xxxx its cap all the way on to the housing.

If the o-ring is clean & in place, the cell/housing are aligned, and the cap is screwed on all the way, no evidence of physical damage is evident, then this will prevent any leaking.
