To clean a CircuPool CORE, a cap is not needed. Please see the cleaning instructions in the product manual or this dedicated CircuPool CORE cell cleaning guide. These instructions will show you how to remove the cell from its housing, and place it in its cleaning vessel for the soaking process.
There is a "winter bypass cap" for the CORE, which is designed for pool owners who wish to remove their equipment and store it inside during the winter; the cap allows you to leave the clear housing in place and seal your plumbing during such a scenario.
