I have a 10,000 gallon pool and want to convert to salt. So many questions. It's been 3 years since I drained and replaced 1/2 the water in the pool due to a repair. Should I consider a water replacement prior to conversion ? Under what circumstances should I consider water replacement? Money not an option...which model should I buy? What size? When does increase size not benefit performance for salt conversion power, cell cleaning cycle time, and cell life? Installation should not be a consideration as all would fit my system. I have an inground 11,500gal (estimate) pool. I have a 100 sq ft cartridge filter. All visible plumbing is 1-1/2" PVC. The current pump motor is 1 HP single speed. I would like to upgrade to a VS pump to run 8 hrs per day and turn the pool over 2x/day. I'm also considering the RJ-20PLUS SWCG. What size motor should I use - the 1.5, 2.0 or the 3.0HP??? All parameters are ok (I check regularly), except chlorine and free chlorine levels, which are at 0. How do I know that the cell actually works?
