This says it can produce up to 1.4 lbs of chlorine per day. Would this be assuming it is running at 100% output for 24 hours? Just trying to figure out my run time and output settings. I have a variable speed pump. The question is, when I am at the low speed I suspect the flow will not be enough for the flow switch to read so it will not produce salt. Is this correct? I have the Edge40. After a big rainstorm, the system told me that salt level was low. I added a few bags, and got it tested. Showings 4500 level. I had it running on high and boost for about 6 hours, yet my chlorine levels were still extremely low. I then cleaned the cell by the book and ran it again for a few hours with no change to chlorine levels. Still shows no chlorine when tested. I looked at the cell with a flashlight while it was running. I did see the electrolysis bubbles being formed. Yet after a few hours the chlorine levels did not rise. Please advise. View answer

I have a 10,000 gallon pool and want to convert to salt. So many questions. It's been 3 years since I drained and replaced 1/2 the water in the pool due to a repair. Should I consider a water replacement prior to conversion ? Under what circumstances should I consider water replacement? Money not an option...which model should I buy? What size? When does increase size not benefit performance for salt conversion power, cell cleaning cycle time, and cell life? Installation should not be a consideration as all would fit my system.
